Orphanage in Fonds-Parisien

Despite the ongoing challenges in Haiti, since the beginning of the Haiti Mission in 2002 to this day, as Samuel said, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” (1 Sam. 7:12). Even the COVID virus didn’t have any direct impact on us. Our kids at the orphanage, the people who are taking care of them, the church in Fonds-Parisien, everyone is doing well, all things considered.

With regards to the ongoing insecurity in Haiti, like most of the people there, they have no way of escaping the disastrous impacts of these gangs. While by God’s grace the gangs have not been able to come to Fonds-Parisien and terrorize the population there, they are indirectly affected, nevertheless.

For example, for several years our folks there have not had any electricity. They depended on Solar Systems for everything. Now their Solar System batteries have died and because of the gangs they are not able to go to the city to buy new ones. Therefore, they have no power at all even for their water pumps. So, without irrigation all their plants and vegetables are gone. (See photos before and after).

Thanks be to God, despite all the challenges, our kids and everyone at the orphanage as well as the church in Fonds-Parisien are doing well. 5 of our kids at the orphanage have already obeyed the gospel and are now members of the Lord’s church. The brethren are thirsty for God’s word and continue to ask lots of Biblical questions as they continue to grow and mature in their faith.

We need to prepare more workers to help spread the Gospel in and around Fonds-Parisien, and help the brethren to remain vigilant and beware of some false doctrines around there. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to support the Lord’s work in Haiti.
